It Worked. It Just Didn't Wow.
The original Hooves & Paws site got the job done, but it wasn't doing the brand any favors. Navigation was heavy and text-dense, the logo leaned into clipart territory, and the homepage hero was basically a rotating billboard for seasonal promos with no real visual hierarchy. Category banners slapped all-caps text over cropped photos and called it a day. The palette was safe, generic blues and whites that blended into every other mid-2000s pet supply store on the internet. Customers could find what they needed, but there was nothing pulling them in or making them want to stick around.

The redesigned site knows exactly who it is and it shows. A refined wordmark and illustrated brand badge do the heavy lifting upfront, communicating 30 years of expertise without saying a word. Navigation got a serious edit: four clean category pillars with custom line-art icons that make browsing feel intuitive, not overwhelming. The homepage now leads with a cinematic hero and a bento-style editorial grid that tells a story instead of just pushing product. The palette shifted to earthy olive greens and warm neutrals, a visual language that actually fits the equestrian and pet care world. Trust signals like free shipping, same-day dispatch, and a 365-day return policy are built right into the layout where customers can see them. The result is a store that earns confidence before anyone adds a thing to their cart.
